Fair terms, plainly put.
These are the terms for buying and using Melani. No dark corners. You license the app, you run it on your Mac with your own model key, and you can cancel whenever you like.

01 What you're buying
A personal, non-exclusive license to install and run Melani on Macs you own or control. The license is delivered as a signed key emailed to you after checkout. You keep the app running by keeping the subscription active. You do not buy the source, and you may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the app or your key.
02 Your own model key
Melani needs your Anthropic API key to work. Model usage is billed to you by Anthropic, separately from this subscription, and is entirely outside our control. Typical usage runs a few dollars a month, but you are responsible for your own Anthropic charges. Keep your key safe. It lives in your Keychain and we never see it.
03 Billing and trial
- $18/month or $180/year, charged through Stripe.
- A 7-day free trial. Cancel before it ends and you are not charged.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from the link in any Stripe receipt, or by emailing us.
- On cancellation you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
04 Refunds
If Melani is not for you, email hello@kahlus.com within 14 days of your first charge and we will refund it in full. No form, no interrogation.
Beyond that window, a paid period is non-refundable, but you can cancel to stop the next one at any time.
05 Acceptable use
Use Melani for your own planning and reflection. Do not attempt to crack, resell, or share license keys, do not use the app to break the law, and do not misuse the Anthropic API in violation of their usage policies. Sharing or leaking a key can result in it being revoked.
06 The app is provided as is
We work hard to make Melani correct and calm, but it is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. The residual and its verdicts are a reflective aid, not professional advice, and you stay responsible for your own decisions. To the fullest extent the law allows, Kahlus is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the prior twelve months.
07 Ending the license
You can stop any time by cancelling. We may suspend or end a license for a serious breach of these terms, such as reselling keys, in which case we will tell you why. If we ever discontinue Melani we will give active subscribers notice and stop billing.
08 Changes and contact
If these terms change we update the date above and email active license holders about anything material. Continuing to use Melani after a change means you accept the new terms.
